A Boy And His Atom: The World’s Smallest Movie

BRIEF

To spread the word about IBM’s latest innovation in computer storage, we made a movie that tells a universal story of friendship: a boy and an atom dancing and playing together.  IBM scientists moved 5000+ atoms to create the frames for this stop motion animation, a Guiness World Record that had been seen over 5 million times around the world since.

The animation, along with 18 other short videos, launched at the Tribeca Online Film Festival and was streamed from Disney's Epcot to classrooms across the United States. In NYC, it debuted at the World Science Fair and NYC Tech Meet-up, before being launched in several other countries.
